Blacon Youth Association consulted with young people to find out what leisure improvements they wanted in their local area. Young people wanted a multi purpose site with a 5 a side pitch, a youth shelter and a skate park/BMX provision. The development has been completed and further expansion is planned for 2007.

Blacon Youth Association's youth partnership action plan highlighted the need to improve leisure provision in Blacon Hall ward.

At the same time Blacon Area Committee involved 69 children from 2 schools in designing a playground. They did this by drawing plans of what they would like to see on site.

Over 400 high school young people were also consulted on the area and what they would like to see at the leisure provision.

The Youth Forum was used as the representative group. They designed plans based on the questionnaire results.

The development was completed in June 2006 and includes a playground and multi use court with 5 a side pitch and skateboard/BMX provision.

30 to 40 young people regularly use the facility.

Further expansion of the site is planned for 2007 including a youth shelter and football netting.
