Organisations using Hear by Right

Local Network MapHear by Right is used by a wealth of organisations from every sector of work with young people.

In this section of the website you can find browse the shared knowledge of organisations using Hear by Right.

You might look at how organisations in your sector are mapping, planning and acting on the involvement of young people - or you may wish to look for inspiration from organisations vastly different in sector and scale from your own.

Children and Young People's Trusts

Children's trusts bring together all services for children and young people in an area to focus on improving outcomes for all children and young people. To do that effectively, children and young people must be involved as key partners and stakeholders in Children's Trusts. Hear by Right provides a recognised framework, referenced in the Children's Trust guidance, for mapping and planning for young people's participation across Children's Trust arrangements.

Voluntary and Community Sector and other Third Sector Organisations

The voluntary, community and Third sector are embedding service user involvement in their services and throughout the organisation through the introduction of the Hear by Right standards framework.  Hear by Right can provide a structure via the map and plan to progress towards meaningfully involvment of service users in all aspects of the organisation. 

Education

The Hear by Right participation standards framework can be used in schools and colleges to map the current level of student participation and to develop a strategic plan to improve it. The Hear by Right map allows schools to record in one place the evidence to satisfy the various government requirements for aspects of student participation. The gaps in a school map allow for the development of a strategic plan.

Health

The Hear by Right participation standards framework will help your hospital, PCT, health service or project map assess the current level of young patient/user/client participation and then develop a strategy to improve it. The Hear by Right map will allow you to record in one place the evidence to satisfy the various government requirements for aspects of children’s and young people’s participation.

Local Authorities

The Hear by Right participation standards framework allows Local Authorities to map and plan what they currently do in order to increase children and young people’s active involvement with local authorities and their participation in local democracy. The Standards encourage councils to look seriously at how they currently involve and engage children and young people in local democratic processes and to improve this.

Museums and Galleries

The Hear by Right participation standards framework can be used by museums and galleries to map the current level of youth participation and develop a strategic plan for improvement to ensure the participation of young people becomes embedded in service delivery.

National Organisations

The Hear by Right Standards are used across a range of voluntary and statutory organisations to further the partcipation of children and young people in the decision making process on a national level.
