The Book and Resources

Hear by Right is based around a printed toolkit and a range of official resources available from this website and on CD-Rom.

The latest edition of the Hear by Right book and accompanying CD-Rom take account of children and young people’s trust arrangements, increased partnership working and the Every Child Matters outcomes for children and young people.

The Hear by Right standards framework is based on the 7 S model of organisational change: Shared values, Strategies, Structures, Systems, Staff, Skills and knowledge and Style of leadership. It relies on self- assessment across three levels: emerging, established land advanced. Each level builds on the last. This ensure that children and young people's involvement is built in and not just bolted on.

The Hear by Right Standards Framework is available in formats to suit you.

Hear By Right has been designed as a practical toolkit. Its core resources include the ready-to-use 'mapping and planning' and 'impact of organisational change' templates in Word format, as well as a pre-prepared PowerPoint presentation to help explain Hear By Right to colleagues and partners. The glossy pre-printed book version of Hear by Right is priced at £10.00 and comes with an accompanying CD-Rom with all the resources listed. It is available from the NYA sales department or call 0116 242 7427.

The Hear by Right book along with other resources produced and used by The National Youth Agency are also available free of charge to download online. To do this, please follow the link to our Downloads section.
