Summary
CEDAR Projects was established in January 2000 the main aim of the charity was based on the initiative of a group of professionals attempting to overcome the negative stereotype associated with the African- Caribbean community, having a main objective to initiate community based projects that provide opportunities for individuals to develop themselves, widening their participation in their communities.
The Project has been involved in the Millennium Volunteers project now currently known as āVā since January 2000 this has been one of the main tools to help achieve their objectives. Through an initiative of one of our volunteers we have developed The Real-care Baby Project going into schools and colleges to help with their Teenage Pregnancy Prevention programmes and Health and Social care projects.
We also offer a One Stop Employment Shop to help people to improve their skills and job prospects through gaining interview skills, assertiveness training, Presentation skills CV and letter writing.
The project has 3 main staff, The Project Co-ordinator who delivers the core Business activities e.g. Recruitment and induction of Volunteers, Health and Safety. The Project Worker who works closely with Project Co-ordinator assisting with all aims and oversees the Administration Officer/Support worker of the office and the administrator who provides support to both Project Co-ordinator and the Project Worker.
