Take Over day is currently exploring involving young people in strategy and scrutiny

Consultations take a peer led approach so that young people contribute directly to how results will effect new developments (Perceptions of School Nurses Consultation and Young Peoples Feeling about Breast feeding Consultation)

- YP involved with Home Stays raised concerns that they did not like the term review for review placement meetings and were uncomfortable with the rigid process: a change of name and process was negotiated with Y/P to allow them to contribute in formats they were comfortable with without attending the meeting by receiving feedback from their Pathway worker

Envision are accountable to the GAP. Grad trustee. Young people share recruitment decisions on new staff. Young people take part in our biannual strategic review meetings (‘Visioning’).

Children and young people regularly attend overview and scrutiny committees

Young people act as mystery shoppers, sit on staff recruitment panels, comment on streetscape plans and other Service Delivery Plans, complaints procedures, administer the Youth Grants scheme and have sat on panels for grant aid to organisations such as the Young Roots Lottery Heritage Fund. Young people are regularly involved in the Overview and Scrutiny process. For example, they have attended meetings on Council tax, which have looked at the level of spending on services and whether services provide good value for money.
