Participation network/Youth Service/Connexions

1. Derbyshire Youth Service is a part of the New Derbyshire Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust has agreed to adopt Hear by Right as the standards for participation in Derbyshire.
2. The Derbyshire Youth Service Participation Framework 2006 involves partners and communities in consultation.

The Youth Forum has recently finished the process of negotiating a borough wide Youth Charter. This now needs to be agreed by partner organisations and community groups. Additionally, voluntary organisations funded through Community Learning and Arts will sign up to Youth Charter as part of the funding agreement.

Shared Values agreed with Local Authorities

The Multi Agency Youth Strategy includes a charter of shared values from all parties who have committed to the action plan around children and young people’s involvement and will be driven through the LSP.

Training in the standards has taken place with key partners and community groups from which a common charter will be developed to ensure good practice across the borough around children and young people’s participation
