Initially, all direct services for children and young people had agreed to a Youth Pledge, which needed adapting to provide a Council wide perspective. A Council-wide Youth Policy and Charter has now been agreed, which has been developed in active partnership with young people.

Children and young people are developing a set of standards around their involvement as part of the borough wide student council and this will be agreed and supported by the organisation as good practice. The Youth Management Committee in the Cave have agreed to a charter of shared values as part of the Youth Service commitment to young people.
