- Young mums are given details about statutory maternity leave and right to education. Young mums partners also receive information about paternity leave and the teenage pregnancy project worker will liaise with schools to enable them to take it.

Although Furness has links with services like NYAS and the Every Child Matters agenda the rights of the child needs to be evident in work done with young people and children. This includes looking at including article 12 in policy statements, publicity and media reports. Reference could also be made to article through the wotson4u website and school websites and media.

- C/YP with LDD and their families would benefit from the development of a Welfare Rights Officer to advise families of all benefit entitlements and up to date information.

- Children over eight should automatically be appointed with an advocate

- Work with fostering link workers: to improve foster carers awareness of C/YP rights e.g. choices over what they have for dinner.
