Kicking off the 70th Participation Works Hear by Right workshop across England, The NYA’s Harry Wade and Jake Manning soon realised something was amiss: the box containing delegate packs and all the resources had arrived safely in London AND promptly been returned to Leicester!

A case study looking at the EEFO progamme and how young people are involved in changing the culture of service delivery and making responsible and appropriate decisions. EEFO is responsible for implementing the EEFO Quality Standards which demostrate organisations are providing a young person friendly service.

Cool Kids Club - Medway.

The Cool Kids Club helps to advise Children’s Fund Medway and includes younger children and children with learning difficulties.

Young people from North East Lincolnshire took a massive step forward in improving the services to get a better deal for the 23,000 children and young people living within the county.

Between February and August 2008, The NYA through Participation Works, teamed up with Government Office South East to support local authorities to build in the effective participation of children and young people in the services they use. Some themes emerge which we would value reflections on. Do these key messages echo your experiences? Is there anything from your experience which is missing?

In partnership with Participation Works and Government Office, The NYA Hear by Right team has worked recently with 17 of the 19 local authorities across the South East to better build in the participation of children and young people to improve services so they get a better deal. Meanwhile Talha Ghannam reports on two of the events on the Isle of Wight and in Brighton and Hove.
