Children and young people may like to take a lead on writing a proposal/charter of shared values, which is made available to all young people, children and adults. Good practice should be promoted more through the Furness area in relation to participation. Many events could be tapped into and made into formal ‘Sharing practice days’ Staff and young people could make a commitment to contribute to these events. Young people need to take more of an active role in Corporate Parenting Panel and the Common Assessment Framework process. More focus needs to be made to ensure the views; wishes and feelings are taken into consideration plus evaluation and monitoring after the process which promotes creative ways to involve all in decision making. Feedback and input from NYAS needs to be monitored to ensure it is effectively representing the views of young people looked after in Furness and whether all young people know and understand what the NYAS offer. Cumbria’s Contract previously known as the pledge needs to be adopted by the action4 County group and shared with the whole of Childrens services and all children and young people looked after.
